Psalm 27 "Do not fear"

  1. The Lord is my light and my salvation—

   why should I be afraid?

I see me standing on a path filled with trees on each side. The branches descending to conceal my path, but my passage is rich with sunrays coming through the trees.
My passage of life may look ominous, the trees look like they will devour me; the gloom surrounding my path looks as if I could stumble, but the sunlight warms my skin and embraces me. I draw closer with each step I accept, and my path becomes explicit. Curious that as I continue with my eyes on the light; I draw closer to my goals, my needs being met, and to the Lord.

The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,

   so why should I tremble?

Though I cannot understand with my physical eyes, I see with my inner eye the safeguard that surrounds me. Sometimes I overlook and fear.

  1. When evil people come to devour me,

when my enemies and foes attack me,

   they will stumble and fall.

When my path crosses with another who gives me harm, I have learned to walk away. They are not keeping their eyes on the light. And they will reach that bump in their quest and they will flounder and the decline in my journey is steep.

  1. Though a mighty army surrounds me,

my heart will not be afraid.

I have chosen my steps and walked my path of life and many surrounded me and preferred me to give up. And those are sometimes I took my eyes off of the light, I became fearful, but again I remind myself to put my eyes on the light.

Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident.

Though the storm was painful, I learn to choose the opportunity set before me, and trust in the light and not the ones attacking me.

  1. The one thing I ask of the Lord—

   the thing I seek most—

live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,

   delighting in the Lord’s perfections

   and meditating in his Temple.

Though the expedition long and rough, I dwell in the refuge of the Lord.

  1. For he will conceal me there when troubles come;

he will hide me in his sanctuary.

He will place me out of reach on a high rock.

I have known the effect of pain and trouble, and lean in the arms of the light, and my troubles vanish. The more I stretched and tucked myself away in the light the less I feel the effects of troubles.

  1. Then I will hold my head high

above my enemies who surround me.

When I look up, I am high above and my troubles are beneath me.

At his sanctuary, I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy,

singing and praising the Lord with music.

Then I sing and say how thankful and wonderful the light is to save me.

  1.  Hear me as I pray, O Lord.

   Be merciful and answer me!

   What mercy, What Grace

  1.  My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.”

And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.”

I have determined as I progress through my pilgrimage to tune in and observe the Son ray. He expresses and instructs me in which steps to choose.

  1. Do not turn your back on me.

Do not reject your servant in anger.

You have always been my helper.

And in my humanness, I fear rejection, but that is not an option in the light. He never rejects or turns on me. I must listen, watch and never overlook that the light is skillful to support and defend me.

Don’t leave me now; don’t abandon me,

  O God of my salvation!

Oh, humanness, stop your whining, I am magnificent and will be fine, because He watches and protects me.

  1.  Even if my father and mother abandon me,

the Lord will hold me close.

During my journey, I felt discarded, but who attends and remains close? Yes, the Light, the Son ray, warms me with His embrace, He preserves me, and yes, also the Son who teaches me the process through many of life’s discouragements.

  1.  Teach me how to live, O Lord.

Lead me along the right path,

for my enemies are waiting for me.

There are always concerns, events, and individuals in my journey who desires to sabotage me, but there is always the Son guiding me through the maze of life.

  1.  Do not let me fall into their hands.

    For they accuse me of things I’ve never done;

with every breath, they threaten me with violence.

Oh, how I whine in my humanness. But oh how the light teaches me in every step.

  1.  Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness

while I am here in the land of the living.

I know the goodness of the Lord. I am thankful that everything I need is right here right now.

  1.  Wait patiently for the Lord.

    Be brave and courageous.

Be patient with yourself and others, be brave through your journey, and be courageous while taking steps to your victory. Because if we listen and follow, the Son’s rays He will warm us, protect us, and guide us.

Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

Simply YOU matter,

even in times of fear

1      Declare me innocent, O Lord,

for I have acted with integrity;

I have trusted in the Lord without wavering.

2      Put me on trial, Lord, and cross-examine me.

Test my motives and my heart.

3      For I am always aware of your unfailing love,

and I have lived according to your truth.

4      I do not spend time with liars

or go along with hypocrites.

5      I hate the gatherings of those who do evil,

and I refuse to join in with the wicked.

6      I wash my hands to declare my innocence.

I come to your altar, O Lord,

7      singing a song of thanksgiving

and telling of all your wonders.

8      I love your sanctuary, Lord,

the place where your glorious presence dwells.

9      Don’t let me suffer the fate of sinners.

Don’t condemn me along with murderers.

10    Their hands are dirty with evil schemes,

and they constantly take bribes.

11    But I am not like that; I live with integrity.

So redeem me and show me mercy.

12    Now I stand on solid ground,

and I will publicly praise the Lord.

Psalm 25

Verse 1-3

I love how this Psalm starts out. The Psalmist tells God what he will produce or rather what he
will believe. He declares I commit my life and I will depend on you.
Verse 2: the Psalmist asks God to not allow disgrace.
Verse 3: He realizes that all who trusts because disgrace comes from deceivers.

Verse 4-5

I love how humble the psalmist is:
Verse 4: he is receptive to being taught the Godly path
Verse 5: He understands he needs to be lead to the truth, he sees he does not perceive the truth without God

Verse 5-6-7

In these verses, the Psalmist reminds God of his tenderness and boundless love.
My favorite part of this Psalm is in verse 7, “Remember me in the light of your unfailing love,”
He is asking God to read through the lenses of unfailing love, not the lenses of judgment of past offenses.

Verse 8-11

In these verses, The Psalmist tells what he perceives are the Components of God.

  • Good
  • Does right
  • Leads the humble while teaching
  • Leads with unfailing love and faithfulness
  • Forgives

Verse 12-15

Tells what God will accomplish to his friends whose minds are set on Him

  • He will determine the correct path
  • They will thrive in prosperity
  • Their children will succeed in the land
  • He teaches
  • He rescues

Verse 16-20

The Psalmist now tells God his concerns. In this Psalm, we can obtain the order of how prayers are to be structured.

  • The Psalmist first tells God what he, the psalmist will do
  • Open to doing Gods will
  • Reminds God of who the Psalmist knows about God
  • Reminds God of His characteristics
  • Reminds God, that he is a friend and fixes his eyes on God
  •      The Psalmist tells God his troubles

The Psalmist ends with this statement in verse 21, “May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in you.”

Psalm 24

Verse 1: God explains He created and owns everything we can see, smell, speak, touch, and hear.
Verse 2: He establishes His authority, then in verses 3-6, He tells us the characteristics of who may come to him.
This psalm is before Jesus Christ came in the flesh. He died for us, so we need not be perfect before we seek and worship Him.
Verses 7 & 9 say exactly the same thing: to open ancient gates and doors and to let the King of Glory in.

He is saying:

  1. LET GO of the Past Hurts.
  2. LET GO of old thought patterns
  3. LET GO of wrong thinking and the lies the enemy tells

Verses 8 & 10: He tells us exactly who we are letting in.

Allow the Holy One to enter, He can handle all you have to give Him

  1. He is strong and mighty
  2. Invincible in battle
  3. Lord of Heaven’s Armies

Psalm 24

1    The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.

The world and all its people belong to him.

2    For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas

and built it on the ocean depths.

3    Who may climb the mountain of the Lord?
Who may stand in his holy place?
4    Only those whose hands and hearts are pure,
who do not worship idols

and never tell lies.

5    They will receive the Lord’s blessing
and have a right relationship with God their savior.
6    Such people may seek you

and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob

7    Open up, ancient gates!
Open up, ancient doors,
and let the King of glory enter.
8    Who is the King of glory?
The Lord, strong and mighty;
the Lord, invincible in battle.
9    Open up, ancient gates!
Open up, ancient doors,
and let the King of glory enter.
10   Who is the King of glory?
The Lord of Heaven’s Armies—
he is the King of glory.

Simply you matter,

even with your past hurts and wrong choices

Psalm 23

This is a psalm of David who lived as a shepherd boy for many years. He is recalling the care of his sheep is comparable to how God cares for him. God is a shepherd to his people. David realizes what it is to care for and love the sheep. David explains that he was the sheep’s defender; he managed the sheep, and he led them to where he perceived they would have the choicest nourishment and the best protection.

David is telling God he understands. As I have watched over my sheep by serving them, arrange their every desire. I am consistently close by. I will defend and console them. Therefore, I will depend on You and You will accomplish more, as I walk this journey called life.

1 The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
2 He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.
3 He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.
4 Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.
5 You prepare a feast for me
in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord

Simply you matter,

Can you trust God to take care of all your needs?
