For the majority of my life, I existed as a victim. I was consumed by the concern over others’ opinions. I allowed their judgments to dictate my actions and emotions. Consequently, I endured a life overshadowed by depression. I lived my life with my eyes downcast, shoulders slumped, and guided by my desire to avoid attention at all cost.
Then I read this verse this morning and it spoke to me.
Luke 9:60
“And Jesus said to him, ‘Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, Go and proclaim the Kingdom of God.”
LEAVE THE DEAD:
Dead relationships
Past hurts
Past disappointments
Past lifestyles
BURY:
Bury worry
Bury the desire to stop life
BUT AS FOR YOU::
Don’t let anyone stop me from living my life.
GO:
walk – do
Take action
Take the risk
Lift my focus off of what was
PROCLAIM THE GOODNESS OF GOD:
Speak the goodness
Live the goodness
Be the goodness
So today, I learn again I matter,
Simply You Matter,
